We're Daniel and Bethany. Husband and wife photographers and cinematographers based in Southern California. We hope you will sit down with some coffee and enjoy viewing our latest work and catching a glimpse of our lives and adventures!
Some brides have been thinking about their wedding since they were little girls. Some couples remember every tiny detail, mark every significant date in their relationship, and share a whole playlist of songs that are meaningful to them. Other brides aren’t like that. I wasn’t like that.
I remember how Daniel and I met vividly, but I could not give you the date if my life depended on it. The same goes for the dates of our first date, when Daniel and I officially became a couple, or even the date that Daniel proposed to me. I just never thought to run to the calendar and mark the date. Daniel and I remember experiences more than the little details. We could tell you about how Daniel and I were in New Orleans when he asked me to be his girlfriend. I remember that we were on the Mississippi River, that a band was playing in the street and that it was cold. I can’t tell you what we were wearing, what the date was or what song the band was playing.
If you’re like me, that’s ok! You don’t have to remember every tiny detail or have “your song” before he even pops the question. The idea of finding “your song” for your first dance may seem daunting or even make you feel bad that you don’t already have a song that makes you and your fiance think of each other every time you hear it. But it can be just as fun to spend time together listening to a bunch of songs to find a song you will both fall in love with. Some couples’ songs trigger a memory for them. But it can be just as special when you create a memory of choosing your song.
To give you a start in the memory making, I have compiled a list of 5o songs that would be great for a first dance.
