Are you newly engaged? Not so newly engaged? Thinking about getting engaged? Congratulations! This is such an exciting time! After you take some time just celebrating your new relationship status, its time to start planning your engagement photo session. These photos are about you and your honey. To capture this moment in your life. And with that, you may wonder how you can personalize your engagement session so that it’s the “real you” being captured. Today we want to talk about just that.
Location is important when it comes to personalizing your engagement session. If you aren’t “beach people” then the beach is probably not the best location choice for you. Think of a place that is special to the two of you or a location that represents your personalities. Are you both big comic book fans? Maybe taking some photos at your favorite comic book store would be perfect for you. Do you like to hike? Perhaps an adventure style engagement session is right. Or do you love to travel? If you have the funds and time, perhaps an international location is something you should consider. Whatever location(s) you choose, make sure that it feel right and true to the two of you.
Do you have a pet that is special to you? Including your furry friends in some of your engagement photos is a fun way to personalize your session. Just be sure to bring someone along that is familiar with your fur-baby, to help with the wrangling and to take him/her home when they are done.
This is a fun one. You could go all out and plan an entire themed session or just bring some props that mean something to you. You can bring signs, extra articles of clothing (hats, scarves, jewelry, etc), balloons, a bouquet, and so much more.
We can’t stress this one enough. Hiring a photographer you like and feel comfortable with is so important. In order to personalize your engagement session, you will need to feel relaxed and like you can be yourselves. A photographer you are comfortable with will be able to help bring out your true personalities and capture them.
